Happy Hour: Top 10 Happiness Songs
Happy hour starts now…
This week I offer you a countdown of top ten songs that relate to happiness, in honour of the Happy Hour slot I have been doing on Time 107.5 FM radio.
Don’t be fooled, these songs are not your usual suspects regarding happiness. Some of these songs actually make me want to shout at the artist ‘no no no don’t let anyone get best of you’.

10. Heroes – David Bowie
You can be a hero, not just for one day, but every day. Do something for someone less fortunate than yourself. You’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and truly be a HERO.
9. I wanna be where you are – The Jackson 5
No you don’t want to be where anyone else is, where you are in life is perfect for you. Often we delay happiness until we get something else; you can choose happiness right now. Exactly where you are.
8. Nothing compares to you – Sinead O’Connor
Stop comparing yourself to other people. The only person you need to compare yourself to is yourself. That’s the only comparison that really matters. Look at how far you’ve come and measure your improvements along the way.
7. Holiday – Madonna
Research shows you can derive as much enjoyment from planning a trip as from the trip itself. Start planning a dream trip, even if you never take it.
6. Running on Empty – Jackson Browne
Make sure you are never running on empty. Restore yourself recharge your batteries. Go for a walk in nature, Spend time with those who lift you up and inspire you. Take time out to just ‘be’.
5. I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor
You won’t just survive, choose to thrive. Laugh in the face of challenges. Change your thinking, change your life.
4. Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
Just an awesome song, don’t you think? Just sit back and enjoy it. Music is art for the soul. Listen to the stuff that makes you happy.
3. Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong
How do you see the world? It’s all about perspective. Do you see rain or the rainbow? You ALWAYS have a choice on how you see things.
2. You’ll Never Walk Alone – Gerry and the Pacemakers
You know how good it feels to help someone else? Ever considered that if you don’t let them help you that you are denying them a chance to feel good too? We are all here to help each other. Know when to ask for help and know when to accept it.
